The Opportunity

As a Principal you will oversee a team of teachers delivering our fun and engaging singing, dance and drama classes for students aged between four and eighteen.

Run for 30 weeks of the year, Stagecoach classes give our students an unparalleled education in performing arts, helping them grow in confidence and self esteem, developing key skills for life.

There is a fantastic variety of performance opportunities for students including the opportunity to work with partners such as Disney.

A Stagecoach franchise costs from $20,000 + Tax with funding options available.

There are three types of classes:

Early Stages
Weekly 90 minute classes for four to six year olds with one dedicated teacher and teaching assistant.

Main Stages
Weekly classes for 7-16 year olds made up of an hour of Drama, Dance and Singing.  Each class has a dedicated teacher and students are grouped together by age as they rotate through to disciplines.

Further Stages
Weekly 2 or 3 hour classes for students aged 14 and over.

Before you open your school you will receive a five day training course at our Head Office in Walton on Thames, UK where you will learn more about our Stagecoach business model, our lesson and term structure, marketing your business, classroom management, child protection, our ethos, culture and our brand personality.

A dedicated Regional Franchise Manager

To be there for you as you set up your business, they will also be with you on your first day of term. Someone who is always on hand to help you with your marketing, finding a venues and launching your business so you won’t be doing it on your own.

Customised for your location with a detailed breakdown of where potential Stagecoach students are within your area to help fill your schools.  The Marketing team will continue to support you throughout your career at Stagecoach offering free expert advice and guidance on how to market and grow your business.

Are there any particular skills or qualifications you need to be a Stagecoach franchisee?

Every franchisee needs to have a clear Working With Children Check.  We also look for candidates who have one or more of the following:

  • A Passion for the performing arts
  • Experience in children's education
  • Previous leadership and/or business experience

You will also need a first aid qualification specifically for children.

How much does a Stagecoach franchise cost?

A new franchise opportunity starts from just $20,000 +Tax. Resale options are also available at prices that vary depending on the business.

What training will I need to get started?

You will need to attend initial franchise training, which is held at Stagecoach Head Office in Walton-on-Thames, UK.  These courses run regularly throughout the year. In addition you’ll be able to shadow a successful franchisee to see how they run their schools.

How do I find out which areas are available?

Once you have submitted an online enquiry, we will let you know the nearest available areas to your home postcode.

Do I need a up to date Police Vulnerable Sector Check?

All Stagecoach Principals and teachers need a valid and up to date Police Vulnerable Sector Check and we will support you to arrange this during the recruitment process.

Do I have to be present for every school class?

Yes. The Principal should be present for every Stagecoach session wherever possible, however alternative arrangements can be made in extenuating circumstances.

Do the Stagecoach schools run during the holidays?

All schools take place during term time, with a break for March Break, Easter, Summer and Christmas.  There is some flexibility around exact term dates. You can also to run Holiday Camps and other events during school holidays if you wish.

Can I teach at the school if I am the Principal?

The role of a Principal in the school is to maintain quality and safety standards and therefore should always be available if any issues arise. Because of this the principal is not permitted to teach.
